It actually is available for anyone who buys it. U just receive the o2 simcard so u can ‘activate’ your sim card (=NOT the iphone).
After u did that u receive free o2 wifi hotspot access all over uk (trainstations etc) for the next 12 months after activation. If u dont want this u just put your o2sim in the microwave and Wait till it melts en put your current carrierSimCard in ur phone. Easy as that.

Simply go to http://www.o2.co.uk you can in london or any city buy an iphone 3g on prepay just use the hotel address you are staying at or look on hotels.com in the uk for a uk address .thats all you need .my wife bought one last month and paid with her dutch visa card so no problems there.the uk pound is now 1pound is 1.02 euros so a cheap iphone is perfect in the uk till the pound goes up again ,good luck to all who get one.the firmware on the iphone is also 2.1 as well good for dev teams unlock.

If you do go to the uk then you can activate the iphone back at holland ,but if your in an o2 shop they will activate the phone in the shop itself. If any member here want a real uk address to buy a phone then send me an email with the city you are getting one from and i will send you a address to use to buy your iphone.
