SparkMail voor iOS krijgt nieuw design met donkere modus, profielfoto’s en meer

Spark by Readdle krijgt nieuw ontwerp en functies

Na de grote update van de Documents-app van Readdle geeft de ontwikkelaar ook hun e-mailapp SparkMail een grote makeover. SparkMail heeft een nieuw ontwerp en maakt het makkelijker om overzicht te krijgen in je mail. Daarnaast is de app voorzien van een donkere modus voor wie later op de avond nog zijn of haar e-mail wil raadplegen of wegwerken.

De bekende documenten-app Documents van Readdle heeft vandaag een belangrijke update gekregen met een donkere modus, PDF-bewerker en meer.

Onderdeel van de grote makeover is ondersteuning voor profielfoto’s. Zo herken je supersnel van wie een mailtje afkomstig is. Deze profielfoto zie je namelijk al in je inbox. In de standaard Mailapp van Apple krijg je deze foto pas te zien nadat je de mail hebt geopend. Krijg je een mail van een bedrijf? Dan zoekt Spark daar zelf een plaatje bij. Wel zo handig! De ondersteuning hiervan wordt verzorgd door Clearbit. Onduidelijk is welke gegevens deze partij ontvangt. In het privacybeleid wordt Clearbit verder niet genoemd. Je kunt de ondersteuning voor avatars overigens naar wens in- of uitschakelen via Personalization > Appearance.

Op de iPad kun je met Spark nu meerdere vensters tegelijk geopend hebben. Zo kun je in het ene venster een mail schrijven, terwijl je ook nog door je inbox kunt scrollen. Zo hoef je niet steeds heen en terug en dat bespaart tijd die je liever kwijt bent aan daadwerkelijk emailen. Hiervoor is wel iPadOS 13 of nieuwer vereist.

In Spark 2.5 kun je nu zelf bepalen welke actieknoppen je onderaan een e-mailbericht wil zien. Stuur je vaak mails door, of ben je ze aan de lopende band aan het verwijderen? Geef die knop(pen) dan een prominenter plek. Dit is sinds iOS 13 een veelgehoorde klacht bij de standaard mailapp op de iPhone en iPad.

Open two Spark windows side by side on your iPad. Why? You could open a long email on the left and compose a response on the right, without the need of going back and forth.

*** Sync of contacts on all your devices
You can now label an email address as an important one on iPhone and it will be automatically defined as important on your Mac or iPad.
